Hot Spot Espresso Cafe in San Jose

It bothers me to take work home especially when quarter end is coming up. My daily grind at work runs through my mind during my long commute home. During these moments, I tell myself that I'm not ready to go home yet. I need to stay out for few before the night ends. I'm geared towards that low key spot where I can draw on a napkin, brainstorm for moment, re-analyze what was said to me today, spread out my thoughts, write out my plans for tomorrow, and come up with something clever for my manager and company. On my way home, I took notice of this small café located inside an Asian plaza. "Espresso" and "Asian" were the magic words that called for an immediate right turn signal and the eagerness to find an open parking space in this tiny lot. "What's this?" I asked myself as I walk towards the café. I was quickly drawn in by the hostess as she welcomed me into this smoky environment. I'm all about smiles and friendliness when it comes to first impression. During the first five minutes, the hostess showed me around and shared with me the amenities of their establishment - HDTV's, casino video games, open seating, free WI-FI access, outdoor patio complete with heating lamps, and a center bar with an opportunity to converse with their tantalizing Asian eyes and sweet voices. I had to shake my head twice and gather myself before requesting an iced coffee. Eye candy is the dynamics here without the sensuous fashion undergarments. Seems appropriate sense this located near a middle class neighbor.

I settled in and began my drawings as the hostesses continued on to attending to other patrons. It's completely Asian here - Older gents in deep conversation, young cats immersed with their laptops, and a few oddly individuals that I like to call wall flowers. I felt like an outcast until my hostess made frequent visits for small talk and ensure I was content with my $4.00 drink. That was cool and made me feel comfortable. However, the ice coffee isn't much to rave about. It's simple. It's strong. It will do and keep me up. After an hour, I was satisfied with my drawings and wrapped up my experience here. I thanked my hostess and closed out my cash only bill. I was invited to come back again and returned the gesture to ask for her name. We formally introduced ourselves and left it at that. It feels good to discover a new spot before heading home and meeting someone new.
