| Depends if its really a date or just hanging out. If it's a real date, the guy should pay. If he has any interest in her, he should pay. Basically, show her that he can take care of her if they become a couple later.

| majority of the time, the guy SHOULD pay... It's courtesy for the girl to ask to chip in. The guy should never expect or ask. If he feels like she's riding a free date, don't take her on a second one. Done.

| Some advice on how to save some money in rough times and to not look like a bum, ask the girl what time she is having dinner ex. (" at 7pm"), then tell her you want to meet her for drinks, save money and have a good time, who knows what it can lead to. a fancy restraunt won't make up for a bland or crappy personality.
